I read this story a while back and enjoyed it but, now re-reading it, I hadn't realized how much of it I would remember - so my brain (yeah, it has its own independent existence) must have really enjoyed it too. 

 

The position of Hakkai in the plot machinery is very clever, but the devil in me can't help wishing that the spat between Sanzo and Gojyo over the newspaper and other territory had gone on just a little longer! 

 

Sanzo isn't easy to write, especially with humour - this is very nicely done.
