Title: In a Name
i'm sorry i'm still here...i had to come back and read it again and i had to read my favourite section. Gojyo. the short fragments of paragraphs work; the images here almost haiku like
"careening
in impossible curves
bats snapping up insects."
there is a whole lot of love in this here and "He looked like anyone else. An exceptionally handsome anyone else, obviously."...this is so...in character.
"But some things could be perfect and pure, no matter how scarred they were."
and "the giddy currents of his affection." is such a sweet turn of phrase without being saccharine.
the last paragraph is a picture of peace you don't often get to see with these men, although i am sure there are pockets of these moments abound. i believe so anyway. and so to the last "...reached out to warm his hands. The stains were gone from his trousers, he noticed. He was cold tired and clean."
such a wonderful, wonderful piece and i don't know if i can say it enough. the whole of it is and the end is just such a tthrice wonderful bonus. a gem.

OH MY GOD....this was wonderful, such a pleasure to read .... there was so much to like so much to love....
Sanzo: the interaction here between Sanzo and everyone else..espcially Hakkai is priceless...and the word play on Kouryu's name is nicely intergrated, i love his realisation that Goku is indeed maturing...all the imagery...and as always with sanzo"there were things he needed to say and they were the same things he never would."
Goku: This is one of the nicest introspective Goku pieces I have ever read. You took him all, laid him bare in an unusually quiet way, his observation of Hakkai and Gojyo and his slightly wistful envy of the closeness...and because I so love Gaiden.. I love how you intersperse it in here as with all the other characters...so i so loves you for that...a squillion hugs...and "immediate danger--the stew was burning!" .nice.and the best bits are still to come...
Hakkai: There is always something about the Hakkai/Gonou dynamic that is quite unpinnable sometimes..which Minekura senesei manges to instill in her pictures and here you have managed to capture some of the essence of it. yes and you seem to see Hakkai here as i see him... he doesn't want to die anymore..not now..and perhaps "Anything you want" ... " Yes perhaps" even if Hakkai's part is unheard, it is surely felt..and this is so who there are...the last line is a treasure.
Gojyo: ooh you certainlly saved the best for last! ^_~. and again the gaiden inserts are a pleasure to read. and there is everything thing to love about this that i just can't pick any out. ok i did like the funny bit "you just saved my life and now you want me to get shot?" it made me smile, laugh quietly... it is quite difficult to write these two without writing the other in ( i never have been able to manage it) they are just different..halves of a very unusual whole.
yes i have read Queasy's piece before... thank you so much for this gift of a piece...i simply love it..my list of faves gets longer and i'm off to tell my friends to read this. hugs to you for this one... i can't seem to say it enough. ^_~ .
