Reviewer: OME Anonymous Date: 10/10/07 - 04:32PM Title: Chapter 3: Lighter, heavier, lighter

i loved this story. absolutely loved it. one of the best. thank you for sharing.

Author's Response: Very pleased you enjoyed it, reader OME.  Another time, and if you can, please tell me a little about which aspects you liked, and maybe the Saiyuki guys'll let me come up with a bit more along those lines!    (but thanks for leaving a review in the first place - it's always nice to know that I've been amusing someone.  Ah, sorry, guys - "that YOU've been someone".  Honestly, they're SO childish)

You know, you have a wonderful gift for nuance and flow.  Your imagery is breathtaking sometimes.  This is possibly the first 93 that I have ever read that ends with a very real and final knowledge that Sanzo will never allow the relationship beyond what they have always been.  The thing that I liked best about it, though, was that there is acknowledgement that the potential is there, that Sanzo is just as lonely and desirous of love...but it just goes too far against what he feels is right and necessary for him to give in to it.

I am particularly fond of the parallel drawn between Komyou & Sanzo and Sanzo & Goku, through this sentence: There was silence save for the sound of his own heart-beat, repeating its call from the lonely cave beneath his ribs.

Very nicely done, indeed.
