A self equal to heaven
There are memories inside his head which are not his own, when sleep, or relaxation, slips open a place he cannot touch, and restless pictures flicker across the screen of his loosened mind, scenes independent of his life and him: a shining one who scowls and the freedoms of an Earth he doesn’t know - episodes neither remembered nor learned, but present.
As present now, the violet eyes of his known universe: intelligent, challenging, unconquered save from within, yet still as remote and inexplicable as the images in that internal and uncontrolled space, which is not him, but still his.
