Hazel is still talking as he falls asleep, surprisingly clear enunciation tumbling down into slumber.
That the heretic monk is radiant, incandescent...
Gato pays it no heed; this is nothing he has not heard before. It does not bother him in the slightest that Hazel indulges in this fascination.
That this Eastern heretic is unfortunately unreliable...
But fascination or otherwise it is Gato to whom Hazel now clings. Holding tight, curled up in the twilight between wakefulness and sleep.
That the final flaw is simply that Genjyo Sanzo is not Gato...
And Gato’s lips curve in the faintest of smiles.

Because Sanzo-han may be shiny but that’s not all there is to it.
