This was gorgeous. *Thank* you. And now I love Jien/Dokugakuji even more. Gonou was an unsettling little thing, just right, and the last thing Hakkai says to Dokugaku actually made me whimper in a good way.

this was breathtakingly new, refreshingly original....and so so wonderful. brilliant, brilliant brilliant! You weave a story so seamless and smooth; with characters familiar and made them real and everything else that comes along with it is suddenly made right and bright and wonderful. i loved it from start to finish and it bears reading again! and again....thank you for sharing this.

Wow, what a great plot, what a wonderful achievement! Original -- breathtakingly unique -- captivating, thoughtful and thought-provoking. I think I'm going to need to re-read this to grasp all the layers of meaning, and it will be a pleasure. Thank you for crafting and sharing this work of...art. And even more, thank you for writing Doku so well. Not only because his character, and Kougaiji's, is sorely neglected in fanfiction, but also because it is hard to give him depth beyond the loyalty that defines him in the anime. I loved this portrayal of him as mentor and brother in a very different relationship, masterfully intertwined with heartbreakingly funny memories of Gojyo. They way you seamlessly wove your plot threads just evoked so much tenderness in me as a reader. Thanks so much for sharing and please do write more :D
