Reviews For Fields of Gold

I just read this this morning, right before I came into work and as I was crunching my cereal at the breakfast table. It was just gorgeous--I kept falling into the sweet, sad atmosphere of it---I had to shake myself a few times and remind myself that I had to go to work. Truly, this is wonderful. I love the unpsoken need between the two--the hesitance--3/8 is my second fave pairing (first is 3/5) and I was just soaking this up. I hope you plan to continue, but if not, thanks for these. They're wondeful and bittersweet. I just ate it all up...

The best stories written, as a teacher of mine tolds my class once, are the ones with bits of truth in them, no matter the setting. This is one of those stories. Your prose is wonderful and addictive to read, and as a person new to the Saiyuki fandom in general, and surprised by her love of 38 (and mystified by the number system), this was wonderful to read. You pull many emotions out of the reader, and then tie it up into one beautiful image at the end that ties the story all together. And the emotions in there are real, because everyone knows those kind of feelings of 'what if'. Very nicely played out, and the characterization was refreshingly realistic-feeling. Thank you for a very good read.
