I loved the names, but I must ask, Octavian August, is it cuz Hakkai starts out as Gonou, than becomes Hakkai, like Octavian changed his name? and Joe Sand, clearly Friar Sand from the original journey to the west story. Guy Madder made me very flustered and resulted in me spending half my shift at work on Google. SO! the closest I could come up with is that there is a recipe for something in India called Madder that calls for Ox blood (kougaji being the son of an ox demon) theres also a shade of red called Madder so maybe its a reference to his hair? Or am I being an uber nerd and reading WAY too much into it?? lol. anyway, awesome story.

Oh, I loved this so much when I first read it, a few weeks back, but it almost made me late for an appointment so I didn't have time to comment then. I never could get it out of my head though, and found myself thinking of it (and laughing) again tonight while making whatever's-in-the-fridge pizza, so now that I'm eating it I decided I must go find this fic again and comment properly. The names are all absolutely brilliant; I at least smirked at all of them, and had a good laugh at Octavian August and Santos Dorado and Guy Madder. But then I'm a weird one, having attempted both a Classical Studies major and a Graphic Design major. My biggest regret about this fic is that there isn't more of it -- it seems there must be so much backstory worth telling. But I do love the ending.
