Title: Chapter 1
Very aptly written! Maybe denial is another one of Sanzo's weaknesses disguised as a strength, but he's doing an okay job of being honest with himself in this piece. I wonder what Koumyou would say if he knew how his memory still haunts Sanzo, so? I like the description of the cigarette meditation, and dare I say that this earns yet another "Awww!" from me? Author's Response: As you know, this dates from a while back when I was exploring the dark monk via his solo meditations. Sanzo IS very haunted, which makes him feel guilty which increases the potency of the haunt and so on and so on. The Jikaku smoking practice was about the only bit of fun I got out of this but I'm pleased that you managed to squeeze some mild enjoyment for yourself out of the result. It's funny how those bits which we really enjoyed writing always show with an extra and perceptible gloss, isn't it? Thanks for your encouragement and for leaving a nice comment.
